A patient recently shared a cute story with me about her new hearing aids. She cares for her 4 year-old granddaughter and had struggled to hear her before getting her new aids. She put them in her ears and let “Fiona” listen to them play the musical jingle when they power on. Fiona said, “You have magic in your ears Grandma!”
When I think about it, the jingles does sound like the fairy godmother waving her magic wand. Now when Fiona comes over to visit she asks her Grandmother “Do you have the magic in your ears?”
I’m sure hearing her granddaughter is the most magical thing about her new hearing devices.
